Monster House

For my thesis project, I’m doing 2D concept art for a game that I designed called Monster House. It is displayed through screenshots of how it looks while you're playing. Most of my inspirations of monsters and items are related to Asian culture, the player can learn about different Asian monsters and ghosts while they play. This game is about collecting the missing monster by exploring the mansion and finding items to trap the monster. While exploring you’ll find many items and you need to merge them into new items till you get the final puzzle of the monster. Each monster has a different formula; you ask the non-player character (NPC) monster for clues to the right formula. Each monster draws heavily from local legends and folktales. You may even recognize a monster or two from some horror movies.
