Jämtland

Jämtland is a ski brand focused on the deep connection between art, skier, and the historical narrative of skiing. Deriving its name from the region in Sweden where one of the earliest, most well-preserved skis was found. Each ski graphic focuses on a different aspect of skiing history: Ondurgud focuses on skiing’s early history and skiing within mythology, Birkebeiner focuses on skiing used in warfare, and Renna focuses on the history of skiing as a sport. The brand and illustrations were developed through research and experimentation, using a variety of materials, techniques, and mediums to approach each differently while keeping them in a cohesive line. As a skier and artist, I wanted to delve into research that would inform my work while contributing to a culture that informs me personally.
