Digested Into A Dream; Theatricalizing The Stumble
I dream to elevate the imperfect world, the little moments of beauty or strangeness that slip between our fingers, that get lost in translation, they grow in the cracks of the sidewalks, and are born in the spaces between bodies.I am fascinated by the concept of entrapment within a disorienting space. There our destinations are unclear, there are no prescriptive expectations within a void, which in turn begs for our spontaneous adaptations. My work puts the audience in a place of purposefully inexplicable surrealism. This work gestures towards a dreamlike, playful fantasy, one that is so far removed from our own, where the viewer is temporarily at rest from the bombardments of the present moment. I aim to digest you into these dreams, to find a reflective escape from our absurdly unexplainable world through a lens that is refracted and presented in a way that does not hold the same weight. In this I am Theatricalizing the Stumble.
