Makenzie Willett & Julia Moses

Chance of Rain is a 2D collaborative short film, created to encourage imagination and invoke a sense of nostalgia. We wanted this film to feel like the whimsy of childhood, reminding the viewer of their own sense of play. The setting, story, and characters reflect our own experiences growing up in the forests of New England, while the look of the film itself was inspired by the media we enjoyed as kids. With Chance of Rain, we hope that people can reconnect with their adventurous spirits, and remember to take time to let themselves be silly and have fun.

Bio

Makenzie and Julia are 2D designers and animators who have worked collaboratively on multiple short films such as "Off Track” and “Dino Nuggets”, which have been screened in festivals such as New York Cinemafest, LAMMVA, and ASIFA - East Animation Festival. “Off Track” won Best in Show at the Maine College of Art & Design Film Festival in 2024 and Best Animation - North America in the Couch Film Festival 2024. "Chance of Rain" is their third film together and they hope to continue creating collaboratively in the future. They are both excited to begin working as designers and animators in the industry.
